I
have always had a vision of myself owning a mansion at Sandton or Rosebank
driving a red Posh 911. Shopping whenever I want to, I mean… having it all.
This has been by dream ever since I was in high school, I told myself that I do
not want to suffer or work for anyone, I want to be the boss, I want to
command, I want to be possess the highest authority.
Well…
I was given a challenge: A friend of mine asked me one question and it changed
the way I have seem things throughout my life.
She
said: Would you rather be rich or happy ( comfortable).
I
went home and had an argument with my inner self.
“Having
an abundance of material possessions; possessed of a large amount of property;
well supplied with land, goods, or money; wealthy; opulent; affluent; --
opposed to poor.”
Well
with a lot of motivation from pastors and people I have heard before talking
about this Issue this was my conclusion:
It
is not a sin to be rich, but money does not make the world go around. You can
have all the money in the world, all that you desire to buy, but without love
and happiness life is not complete.
Having
big cars, houses and business is a great dream, but why run after the water and
not the tap.
I
would rather get a tap than to go around seeking for water.
In
my opinion the tap would be God (Jesus). The word of God says, look onto the
Lord and seek him first, then all his riches and glory will flow down to you,
well… am guessing all Christians know that this world is not our own, and that
the Lord God is the boss in heaven and earth. So why not run to the father then,
as his children he can cater for all our needs?
Now,
I would be glad and quick to choose happiness and love than to be rich. There are
many people who have money but do not have the unspeakable joy or do not feel the
unconditional love the father has for us.
So
guys let us get comfortable in the hands of our father in heaven, and I promise
you, as long as you follow his ways and his commands, all his riches and glory
will be bestowed unto you.
“No
one who is an employee can be rich, unless you are a thief”…….. Prophet Phillip
